2021 Purisima Mountain Vineyard Viognier: Inviting aromas of lemon zest, jasmine, and freshly grated ginger. On the palate, mouthwatering notes of peaches, candied citrus, Asian pear, and lavender emerge. The wine has great energy and refreshing acidity, but its weight and rich concentration balance the brightness beautifully.

2021 Purisima Mountain Vineyard Grenache: Bright, lifted aromas and flavors of raspberry, strawberry, pomegranate, dark cherry, and white pepper are ripe and focused. The texture of the wine is velvety smooth, balanced, and elegant.

2020 Purisima Mountain Vineyard Syrah: Classic Purisima Mountain Vineyard Syrah aromas and flavors of black fruits, chocolate, game, pepper, and smoke are ripe and intense in the 2020 vintage. Very ripe, fine tannins frame the bold flavors and rounded texture.

    2021 PMV Viognier

    Clean lines of peach cus­tard and orange blos­som are fresh on the nose of this bot­tling from a moun­tain­top site on the north end of this small appel­la­tion. A chalky min­er­al­i­ty and brisk acid­i­ty fire up the palate, which offers nec­tarine and mel­on bub­blegum flavors.

    2021 PMV Grenache

    The 2021 Grenache Purisi­ma Moun­tain Vine­yard, which includes 15% Syrah, is slight­ly deep­er hued (no doubt due to the Syrah com­po­nent) and has a pure, vibrant nose of ripe red and black fruits, pep­pery herbs, and spring flow­ers. Rich, medi­um to full-bod­ied, beau­ti­ful­ly tex­tured, and down­right seam­less, this gor­geous Grenache will ben­e­fit from 2 – 3 years of bot­tle age and evolve for 8 – 10 years if well stored.

    2021 PMV Grenache

    The 2021 Grenache Purisi­ma Moun­tain Vine­yard is a love­ly, poised wine. This fruit came in on Octo­ber 19 and Novem­ber 15, a reminder of how late the year was. Kirsch, red plum, orange peel, cin­na­mon, cedar and new leather are nice­ly pushed for­ward. The puri­ty of the fla­vors is quite strik­ing, but there is just a touch of heat from the alco­hol. Drink­ing Win­dow 2023 — 2029.

    Blue­ber­ries, mul­ber­ries, pep­pery herbs, and some flower notes all emerge from the 2020 Syrah Purisi­ma Moun­tain Vine­yard, a medi­um to full-bod­ied, fruit-for­ward, plush, sexy lit­tle gem of a Syrah that will offer loads of plea­sure over the com­ing 4 – 6 years or more. This was com­plete­ly destemmed and brought up in 35% new French oak.

    The 2020 Syrah Purisi­ma Moun­tain Vine­yard is a pow­er­ful, dense wine. Blue­ber­ry, black­ber­ry, laven­der, melt­ed road tar and spice con­vey brood­ing inten­si­ty. There’s plen­ty of depth, with huge tan­nins to match. This vir­ile Syrah is going to require a mea­sure of patience.
