Shades of Grenache
Red, white, rosé... Shades of Grenache displays part of the colorful spectrum of Grenache that we produce at Beckmen Vineyards. We were one of the first in the area to produce wine made from the white mutation of Grenache, and one of the first to vinify the grape as a rosé, and, of course, our Santa Ynez Valley Grenache is an icon of Cali-Rhône wine. 2020 Purisima Mountain Vineyard Grenache Blanc: Lime zest, green apple, and a floral note jump from the glass of the 2020 PMV Grenache Blanc. Rich texture and juicy acidity highlight the mouth where more lime zest, green apple, Asian pear, and mineral flavors unfold on a very long finish.
2021 Purisima Mountain Vineyard Grenache Rosé: Bright lifted aromas and flavors of watermelon, cranberry, strawberry and citrus highlight the 2021 PMV Grenache Rosé. The cooler vintage provided great acidity that carries the impressive flavors on the very long finish.
2020 Santa Ynez Valley Grenache: Complex aromas and flavors of bright red fruits, spices, and a savory note that is not typical of this bottling, the 2020 SYV Grenache excels from this hotter than normal vintage. Plush and round on the palate, with fine tannins that frame the expressive flavors, this wine is drinking beautifully now and will age for at least the next decade or more.
