2023 Clone #1 Syrah Purisima Mountain Vineyard

Dark, rich, and intense, the 2023 vintage of Clone 1 delivers classic aromas and flavors of blackberry, plum, dark chocolate, smoke, and bacon. The cool growing season produced a highly structured wine, with bold tannins and vibrant acidity that frame and support the powerful flavors through a long, lingering finish. Big in both flavor and structure, this Syrah will reward patience—decant if drinking young, or cellar for a year or two before opening. Best enjoyed from 2027 through 2040.

All Syrah Clone 1 from the Purisima Mountain Vineyard, completely destemmed and fermented in stainless steel tanks, the 2023 Syrah Clone #1 Purisima Mountain Vineyard has a deep purple hue and a killer nose of blackberries, barbecue smoke, violets, and ground pepper. It’s gorgeous on the palate, medium to full-bodied, concentrated, has ripe, firm, focusing tannins, integrated acidity, and a seamless mouthfeel and finish. This is a brilliant, heavenly Syrah that does everything right but needs air if drinking any time soon. It will keep for 10 – 12 years with ease. Drink 2025 – 2037.
