2018 Fall Wine Releases

We release four new wines every a quarter. The wines are first shared with our Wine Club members, and then available to the general public the following quarter. Sharing our wines for the first time after the years of hard work and dedication is exciting, and we hope you enjoy drinking them as much as we enjoyed crafting them! These are the four wines we released in November 2018:

2017 Purisima Mountain Vineyard Viognier

Fresh and lively, the 2017 Viognier has very bright, complex aromas and flavors of jasmine, honeysuckle, mint, stone fruits, and citrus. Aged in 75% stainless steel and 25% seasoned French oak, the wine is fun, pure and lively on the palate with great texture and a long, lingering finish. Drink it now and over the next several years.

  • Drink: 2018 – 2022
  • Cases Produced: 275
  • AVA: Ballard Canyon

2016 Cuvee le Bec

An incredible Cuvee le Bec vintage crafted with 46% Grenache, 39% Syrah, 8% Mourvedre, and 7% Counoise, the blend continues to lean heavily on Grenache compared to previous Syrah-dominate vintages. Dark cherry, earth, licorice, and peppery spice jump from the glass in this rich and racy vintage of Cuvee le Bec. A little richer than the previous vintage, the added weight creates a dense and seamless wine filled with blue and black fruits, violets, and pepper. A nice mouthfeel and fine tannins carrying the flavors through the long finish.

  • Drink: 2018 – 2028
  • Cases Produced: 3,400
  • AVA: Santa Ynez Valley

2017 Estate Grenache

The first vintage of the 2017 Estate Grenache is sourced from the old block of Grenache, planted back in 1995, on the winery Estate Vineyard. The wine is loaded with aroma, flavor, and incredible texture. Red and blue fruits, licorice, peppery spice, and grilled herbs highlight this big, powerful wine with a smooth, velvety texture and an extremely long finish. The release of this wine, on its own, is long overdue! Drinking great now and over the next 8 – 10 years.

  • Drink: 2018 – 2028
  • Cases Produced: 925
  • AVA: Los Olivos District

2016 Purisima Mountain Vineyard Block Six Syrah

Bold and complex aromatics are filled with minerals and layers of white flowers, pepper, plum, and blackberry. The palate is plush and creamy with more plum and blackberry fruits accentuated by hints of chocolate and spice. As usual, Purisima Mountain minerality runs throughout this gorgeous vintage of Block Six. Drink upon release for 15+ years.

  • Drink: 2018 – 2033
  • Cases Produced: 450
  • AVA: Ballard Canyon
