Announcing Virtual Custom Wine Tastings

After receiv­ing great feed­back on our Zoom Futures tast­ings, we have decid­ed to con­tin­ue with an expand­ed vir­tu­al tast­ing pro­gram year-round. While we can­not 100% repli­cate the expe­ri­ence of vis­it­ing our prop­er­ty in Los Olivos, we have designed a per­son­al­ly curat­ed tast­ing pro­gram that brings the images of our vine­yards and win­ery into your home.

How does it work?

In order to sign up for a vir­tu­al wine tast­ing, click here to con­tact our team and let us know which wines you’re inter­est­ed in tast­ing. Our vir­tu­al tast­ing pro­gram is designed to pro­vide you with a cus­tomized expe­ri­ence based on the wines which you select. Unlike the tast­ing room where we have pre-select­ed the flight, with our vir­tu­al tast­ings, you have the oppor­tu­ni­ty to cus­tomize your expe­ri­ence by select­ing a min­i­mum of three and a max­i­mum of six wines from our list of avail­able wines. You choose the date and time you want, with about two weeks lead time for us to pre­pare and ship the wines to you. After sub­mit­ting the request, we will con­tact you to con­firm the date and coor­di­nate the ship­ping. There is a $75 Vir­tu­al Tast­ing Fee applied to the flight that you select, and all Wine Club dis­counts apply to both the wines and the fee.

The tast­ing itself will be con­duct­ed by either our tast­ing room staff, tast­ing room man­ag­er, or Jeff Beck­men, our Direc­tor of Sales. We will assem­ble a cus­tom Zoom pre­sen­ta­tion high­light­ing the wines that you have select­ed; depend­ing on how many wines are select­ed, the tast­ing should run between an hour to 90 min­utes, and you are free to ask what­ev­er ques­tions you have.

What we learned through our Zoom Futures Tast­ings is that vir­tu­al tast­ings have ben­e­fits – even over vis­it­ing the tast­ing room. The first advan­tage is that we have designed the pro­gram to be com­plete­ly flex­i­ble; you are select­ing which wines you want to taste. Whether you want all white wines, no white wines, only Rhône vari­etals, or every bot­tling of one vari­etal, the choice is yours. Anoth­er ben­e­fit is the con­ve­nience that vir­tu­al tast­ings offer. What could be eas­i­er than tast­ing wines in the com­fort of your own home? Addi­tion­al­ly, if you have a friends or oth­er fam­i­ly mem­bers that you want to con­nect with, shar­ing in a vir­tu­al tast­ing is an easy solution.

Final­ly, each pre­sen­ta­tion is designed to give you a back­stage pass into under­stand­ing our bio­dy­nam­ic farm­ing prac­tices and small lot pro­duc­tion tech­niques. Spe­cif­ic pho­tographs and sto­ries will high­light what makes Beck­men wines so unique, and you will see parts of the prop­er­ty and wine­mak­ing process that are nor­mal­ly not seen – even on a tour.

While there is noth­ing that we enjoy more than host­ing vis­i­tors at our estate, we rec­og­nize that it can be dif­fi­cult to find the time to make the trip. Sched­ul­ing a Beck­men Vir­tu­al Tast­ing is a great way to cel­e­brate hol­i­days, birth­days, anniver­saries, or just spend qual­i­ty time with fam­i­ly and friends.
