The grow­ing sea­son deliv­ered excep­tion­al con­di­tions — one of the most excit­ing vin­tages we’ve seen in years — and with it, an oppor­tu­ni­ty to return this wine to its orig­i­nal form.

For the first time in years, Grenache once again leads the blend.

A Rhône-style com­po­si­tion of Grenache, Syrah, Mourvè­dre and Counoise, the 2023 shows beau­ti­ful ener­gy and depth — ripe red and dark berry fruit, savory spice, and a vibrant fresh­ness that car­ries through a long, expres­sive finish.

For many, Cuvée le Bec is where the Beck­men sto­ry begins.

It’s the bot­tle shared at din­ner, opened with friends and returned to over time — not because it asks for atten­tion, but because it reli­ably deliv­ers some­thing rare: bal­ance, char­ac­ter and consistency.

Root­ed in fruit from both our Estate Vine­yard and Purisi­ma Moun­tain Vine­yard, Cuvée le Bec has always been about har­mo­ny — bring­ing togeth­er struc­ture and approach­a­bil­i­ty in equal measure.

The Name

The name itself car­ries a piece of the story.

On a trip to Europe, Tom and Judy Beck­men spent time at a small French estate — Château le Bec. It left an impres­sion. Not just the wines, but the feel­ing of the place, the sense of tra­di­tion and the expe­ri­ence shared there.

When they returned home, they knew this wine should hold onto that memory.

Cuvée le Bec became a qui­et trib­ute — both to that moment abroad and to the Beck­men name itself. A blend­ing of inspi­ra­tion and iden­ti­ty, much like the wine.

A Wine That Shows Up, Year After Year

In wine, con­sis­ten­cy is nev­er guaranteed.

And yet, over more than two decades, Cuvée le Bec has built a qui­et rep­u­ta­tion for exact­ly that. Vin­tage after vin­tage, the sto­ry is the same: bal­ance, depth and remark­able val­ue — rec­og­nized far beyond its price point.

Cuvée le Bec has con­sis­tent­ly earned strong crit­i­cal recog­ni­tion over the years, with more recent vin­tages con­tin­u­ing to build on that foundation.

It hasn’t stayed sta­t­ic. It has evolved — gain­ing depth, struc­ture and nuance with time.

We were recent­ly remind­ed of this in a very tan­gi­ble way.

Open­ing bot­tles of Cuvée le Bec from more than 20 years ago, we found wines that were still vibrant, bal­anced and very much alive.

It’s a reminder that while this wine is often enjoyed young, it was nev­er meant to be simple.

It’s built with longevity in mind — even if you choose not to wait.

Every vin­tage tells its own sto­ry, but Cuvée le Bec has always car­ried a throughline.

It reflects both where we start­ed and how far we’ve come — ground­ed in Rhône tra­di­tion, shaped by our vine­yards and refined over time.
