Cuvée le Bec: A Story of Consistency
Posted: Mar 17, 2026
The 2023 Cuvée le Bec Has Arrived
The growing season delivered exceptional conditions — one of the most exciting vintages we’ve seen in years — and with it, an opportunity to return this wine to its original form.
For the first time in years, Grenache once again leads the blend.
A Rhône-style composition of Grenache, Syrah, Mourvèdre and Counoise, the 2023 shows beautiful energy and depth — ripe red and dark berry fruit, savory spice, and a vibrant freshness that carries through a long, expressive finish.
A throwback blend, in a remarkable vintage.

For many, Cuvée le Bec is where the Beckmen story begins.
It’s the bottle shared at dinner, opened with friends and returned to over time — not because it asks for attention, but because it reliably delivers something rare: balance, character and consistency.
Rooted in fruit from both our Estate Vineyard and Purisima Mountain Vineyard, Cuvée le Bec has always been about harmony — bringing together structure and approachability in equal measure.
The Name
The name itself carries a piece of the story.
On a trip to Europe, Tom and Judy Beckmen spent time at a small French estate — Château le Bec. It left an impression. Not just the wines, but the feeling of the place, the sense of tradition and the experience shared there.
When they returned home, they knew this wine should hold onto that memory.
Cuvée le Bec became a quiet tribute — both to that moment abroad and to the Beckmen name itself. A blending of inspiration and identity, much like the wine.
A Wine That Shows Up, Year After Year
In wine, consistency is never guaranteed.
And yet, over more than two decades, Cuvée le Bec has built a quiet reputation for exactly that. Vintage after vintage, the story is the same: balance, depth and remarkable value — recognized far beyond its price point.
Cuvée le Bec has consistently earned strong critical recognition over the years, with more recent vintages continuing to build on that foundation.
It hasn’t stayed static. It has evolved — gaining depth, structure and nuance with time.

More Than a “Drink Now” Wine
We were recently reminded of this in a very tangible way.
Opening bottles of Cuvée le Bec from more than 20 years ago, we found wines that were still vibrant, balanced and very much alive.
It’s a reminder that while this wine is often enjoyed young, it was never meant to be simple.
It’s built with longevity in mind — even if you choose not to wait.
A Constant in the Portfolio
Every vintage tells its own story, but Cuvée le Bec has always carried a throughline.
It reflects both where we started and how far we’ve come — grounded in Rhône tradition, shaped by our vineyards and refined over time.
And for those who know it, it becomes something more than just a reliable bottle. It becomes a wine you return to — not out of habit, but because it continues to deliver.
