2022 Viognier Purisima Mountain Vineyard

Picked during an intense heat wave at the beginning of harvest, the 2022 Viognier is a bit riper and richer than the previous few vintages but is never over the top. Broad aromas and flavors of apricot, honeysuckle, jasmine blossoms, and stone fruits bring wave after wave of enjoyment to the palate. The wine is round and textured but has great acidity which keeps the wine in balance and supports the ripe, rich fruit through the very long finish. An outstanding vintage for our Viognier!

    Light aro­mas of lemon­ade, mel­on balls and hon­ey­suck­le start to pick up a touch of peach on the nose of this bot­tling by Steve Beck­men, who’s been mak­ing sol­id Viog­nier for decades now. Chalky in tex­ture, the palate offers orange blos­som and Key lime pie flavors.

    The 2022 Viog­nier Purisi­ma Moun­tain Vine­yard is anoth­er impres­sive white in this range from Beck­men. The warm, dry sea­son pro­duced a pret­ty extro­vert­ed Viog­nier, but the 2022 is not at all over­done. Apri­cot, jas­mine, pas­sion­fruit and a touch of oak all meld togeth­er nice­ly. Drink­ing Win­dow 2023 — 2027.
